After 11 weeks you won’t just know more about photography. You’ll work differently

You’ll understand light.

Not just how to set up a softbox, but why light behaves the way it does. You’ll be able to look at any portrait and reverse-engineer the lighting. You’ll walk into a studio and know exactly what to set up before the client arrives — because you understand the physics, not just the recipes.

You’ll have a repeatable process.

From the initial idea to the final delivered image. Moodboard, lighting plan, camera settings, session workflow, editing, retouching, delivery. Every step intentional, every step consistent. No more guessing, no more hoping.

You’ll know how to connect with your client.

How to read their insecurities in the first ten minutes. How to build trust fast. How to direct them into genuine emotion instead of stiff poses. This is the part that makes clients come back — and it’s the part no AI can replicate.

You’ll have a portfolio you actually built.

Not workshop images shot alongside twenty other photographers. Images you planned, directed, lit, and retouched yourself. Your vision, your decisions, your work.

You’ll have the confidence to charge what you’re worth.

When you know your process delivers consistent results, pricing stops being a guessing game. You know what you bring to the table because you built it yourself, piece by piece.

HOW IT WORKS

The mentorship follows a structured 11-week curriculum. Every week builds on the last. This isn’t freeform coaching where we talk about whatever comes up — it’s a proven sequence designed to build your foundation in the right order.

Weeks 1–2: Recognizing Light.

How light actually behaves, without the intimidating textbook jargon. We focus heavily on analyzing reference images—studying other people’s work to understand exactly how a shot was lit. You’ll learn the techniques to recognize light direction, quality, and modifiers so you can look at any portrait and reverse-engineer it.

Weeks 3–4: Theory Meets the Studio.

It’s time to apply your knowledge in real life. We take our assumptions about how a specific reference image was lit, build a concrete technical plan, and you test it out in a studio. On our next call, we dissect every frame—what worked, what fell apart, and why.

Weeks 5–6: Creating vs. Capturing.

We transition from just understanding light to mastering the photoshoot as a whole. You’ll learn how to do the “homework” before you ever pick up a camera. You’ll build a complete game plan so you already know exactly what you want to create beforehand. You only step into the studio to physically realize the vision you’ve already built.

Weeks 7–8: The Post-Production Process.

We move into the digital darkroom. You’ll learn professional editing workflows in Capture One, understanding exactly what you can push in post versus what you absolutely must fix in-camera. We cover the foundational basics of portrait retouching in Photoshop, and you’ll prepare for your third studio session.

Weeks 9–10: The Client Experience.

While we continue refining your editing and retouching skills, we expand into the human element. You’ll learn how to make a client feel seen, how to help them drop their guard, and how to direct them to show their true selves. You will use these psychological frameworks to prepare for your fourth and final photoshoot.

Week 11: Review & The Roadmap Ahead.

We look at your full arc from week 1 to week 11. We put your first images next to your latest work to objectively measure the technical gap you’ve closed. We identify what still needs refinement, and you leave with a clear, actionable roadmap for the months ahead so your business continues to grow long after our calls end.

The four photoshoots happen on your own time, in a studio you book.

I’m not there in person — I prepare you before each one and we debrief in detail after. This is intentional. You need to learn to run a session yourself, not lean on someone standing next to you.

Is this right for you?

This is for you if:

You want principles, not recipes.

You understand that memorizing a lighting diagram won’t save you when the environment changes. You are ready to master the physics and systems of light so you can guarantee a premium result in any situation, on demand.

You know clients buy the experience.

You realize people don’t just pay for a JPEG, they pay for how you make them feel. You want to automate your technical skills so you can dedicate 100% of your attention to directing your subject, reading their insecurities, and building trust.

You are ready to put in the reps.

You understand there is no magic pill for mastery. You are fully prepared to commit 8–10 hours every week to studying, planning, booking studio time, and getting your hands dirty to build a foundation you are actually proud of.

This isn’t for you if:

You expect “Done-For-You” shortcuts.

If you just want a list of lighting diagrams to copy or a new preset pack to fix your edits, look elsewhere. I teach systems and principles.

You are a theoretical learner.

You prefer passively watching tutorials without executing. This program requires you to book a studio, assemble a team, and shoot real people. The program won’t bring results if you won’t pick up the camera between our calls.

You have a gear-first mentality.

You believe a new $2,000 lens or a more expensive modifier is what’s standing between you and better images. If you aren’t willing to put in the work mastering the fundamentals, we won’t be a good fit.

About me

I’m Gediminas. Twelve years ago, I was exactly where you are. I didn’t go to a prestigious art school – I learned photography from YouTube tutorials, Creative Live webinars, trial and error, overthinking and a whole lot of dreadful skin blurring in Photoshop.

I made every frustrating mistake there is to make, but it wasn’t until I started studying the actual fundamentals and reverse engineering the building blocks that everything changed.

Building that technical foundation allowed me to open my own photo studio in my hometown in 2015, shoot hundreds of professional portrait sessions, and eventually found The Retouching Agency, where I handle high-end post-production for photographers all over the world.

Today, I find meaning in sharing my mistakes and experiences with others. I realized my greatest strength is breaking down intimidating technical concepts so other photographers can finally have their “aha” moment. Hopefully a lot faster than I did.

I built this 11-week program to be the exact roadmap I desperately needed when I was lost.
